November 17, 2011 marked the second annual physical activity-based fundraiser event called a�?Push-Ups for PHSA.a�? Each year, the Public Health Student Association hosts the event and raises funds in order to benefit cheap albuterol and viagra. a program, an organization or a specific cause of public health significance. This year, funds raised went to a local non-profit organization (Running with Sole) that is leading the grassroots effort to reduce childhood obesity rates and to increase levels of physical activity. They also promote child and adolescent wellness through education about the benefits of physical activity and nutrition. They have numerous programs running currently that benefit the underserved and underprivileged youth population here in the surrounding communities.
The event was a success, raising over $1,000 for Running with Sole and providing entertainment for the huge crowd that attended to show their support for the participants and for the cause. Over 30 participants performed push-ups until they collapsed while an energized crowd cheered them on and counted out loud. Crowd members provided incentive with goal-oriented donations and friendly competition amongst participants kept things exciting!
